PROFILE OF THE ACTING SPORTS MINISTERMr. Bolaji Abdullahi is the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology. He was born in 1969. He holds a B.Sc. (Hons.), Second Class Upper in Mass Communication from the University of… Lagos in 1994. He began his career as a professional journalist when he joined ThisDay Newspapers as a reporter in 1997

In 1998, he joined the a civil society organisation, Africa Leadership Forum, ALF,based in Ota, Ogun as Publications Officer, and later a Programme Officer.

He returned to ThisDay in 2000 as Deputy Editor of the ThisDay on Sunday, and in 2001 became the Editor of ThisDay.

In 2001, he won the British Council Chevening Scholarship to study for a postgraduate programme in Governance and Development at the prestigious Institute of Development Studies (IDS), University of Sussex, where he graduated with a Masters Degree with Distinction in 2002. In 2003, he was appointed Special Assistant on Communication and Strategy to the Executive Governor of Kwara State.

In 2005, he was appointed as Special Adviser on Policy and Strategy. As an Assistant to the Governor. He convened the first Kwara Education Summit in 2003, and also served in various committees, including the State Economic Team, which co-ordinated the production of the State Economic Empowerment and Development Strategy (SEEDS); and the State Budget Implementation Committee, which he served as Chairman, among several others.
