AN UNWANTED SOUND

Noise generally is somehow devasting not to talk of polluting an environment with noise.

Another name for Noise pollution is Sound pollution. Sound pollution is any Environmental noise that is annoying,distracting, or physically harmful. It is also refers to as the unwanted sound which is released into the environment.

Noise pollution is excessive, displeasing human, animal, or machine-
created environmental noise that disrupts the activity and the balance of
human or animal life.

The source of most outdoor noise worldwide is mainly construction and transportation systems, including motor vehicle noise, aircraft noise, and rail noise, sounds from musical instrument if not controlled, Poor urban planning may give rise to noise pollution, since side- by-side industrial and residential buildings can result in noise pollution in
the residential area.

Noise in harmfull to the health as it causes health hazards that describes problems in both health and behavior. Noise can also cause physiological and psychological health demage, annoyance and
aggression, hypertension, high stress levels, tinnitus, hearing loss, sleep disturbances, and other harmful effects.

Furthermore, stress and hypertension are the leading causes to
health problems, where as tinnitus can
lead to forgetfulness, severe depression.

In 2009, a report by Lateef Lawal revealed that the Oba of Benin, Omo N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Erediauwa, has complained over the menace constituted by noise pollution caused by aircraft flying in and out of Benin Airport, Edo State, Nigeria. The royal father noted that his High Chiefs, subjects and himself were especially feeling unease with the constant overflying of the palace of the Oba and urged the authorities especially, the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) to assist in finding permanent solution to the menace. He suggested either diverting aircraft landing and take-off path away from the palace horizon or relocating the airport
