Bolowotan football club of Ikorodu have concluded plans to come back to league football, they will be playing in the maiden edition of the Lagos State Metro Professional Football League (MPFL).
The Oga Boys got promoted to the second tier league in Nigeria in 2012 but failed to sojourn in the Nigeria National League (NNL) due to financial constraint thus gave their  NNL slot to MFM FC at no cost, who are currently doing well in the league.
The proprietor of the club, Toyin Gafaar said that the pride of Lagos are back to active football, that they will be featuring in the MPFL.
“We have concluded plans to make it back to active football in Nigeria and we will be starting afresh with the Metro League, our come back is propelled by a desire to run in a more professional way” he divulged.

Gesinde Adedeji Amosa is one of the avid followers of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) he sees at least one league match in a week, he’s conversant with the local league scene, he keeps record of events, he’s well grounded when it comes to writing and talking about the local league to a large extent.

In this mouthwatering piece you are about to wet your appetite with, Fregene highlighted the reasons why CHAN EAGLES are putting up a disappointing performance at ongoing 2014 African Nations Championship and he believes NFF and Keshi are to be blame.

He began by saying” from my Crystal ball, before Nigeria crash out of this on going CHAN 2014, I want to emphatically say that our players lagged:the zeal, courage, coordination, suspect in defence because too much monies are bane of contest.

“If some will agreed with me by following me with their colossius eyes to see our league for good and better. I watched this CHAN matches with rapt attention to suggest how to fine-tune  GLO NIGERIA PREMIER LEAGUE and to retain the status as ‘Best Africa League’ as claimed from many quarters. The way and manner the Nigerian Champions emerged is our problem at the on going championship. Win at all cost by influential and financial muscle teams is deraliing the objectives of the sponsors of the league.

“Despite the fact that Nigeria beat Mozambique who remains as whipping team of our group, Mozambique still played better than those Super Bricklayers that we call footballers!

“Just from memorable lane , last football season ended with mixed feelings from different angles. Kwara United was adjudged as away team and Abubakar Bukola Saraki Team ABSFC was best coordinated and entaining team but alas, where are these teams? unknowingly for the teams they played to hand of football politics and money bags who want to win and play at all cost and play in continental football and let’s wait and see”said Fregene.

He continued “vewing Nigeria performances at on going Championship of African Nations in South Africa. Yes! Nigeria is attending this championship after missing out in last two editions but that’s not an excuse for our dismal performance because our league is adjudged as one of thebest league ( claimed by Unknown ).

“Nigeria senior Coach, Stephen Keshi and Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Technical Department are to be blamed because both are working based on Newspapers’ reports and Social Networks to select present home Eagles which suppose not to be if you will agree with me. At least in Kwara State that produced Two Premier League teams last season, 38 home matches both teams played at Kwara State Stadium, Yes 38 matches ! Neither Super Eagles Coaches nor NFF technical Committees are at Ilorin to watch any of top flight match, from the record available to me, NFF President and his team were in Ilorin when John Obuh’s Flying Eagles was seeking Africa qualification against Tanzania and South Africa.

He declares “for Nigeria home Eagles to be an Africa Champions, Match Fixing in our various centers should be stopped to allow true champion to emerged.

“Little wonder that Some money bag teams will ‘briefed’ match officials for begging penalty to safe their job and later running helter and skelter to pay match bonuses without a sweat from the players. Imagine this, this is another bane of our poor performances at this championship.

“Imaging this, let’s call a spade a spade, Nigerian coaches should be given term of reference before signing contractual papers If there is any and Nigeria Referee Association (NRA) should save our league for the betterment of this country and themselves. Just for once , our constitution should make it compulsory for corporate bodies to invest In Sports development and not football alone.

“Soon the Glo Nigeria Premier will kick off and problems will be brewing for Authenticity of LMC, NFA, NFF, NRA etc, let us take a clue from Ghana Glo Premier league or Tanzania Tigo Phone League and I hoped we shall be there one day” he concluded.

Au revoir!

The Eagles will be engaging the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in a decisive African Nations Championship Group A final clash in Cape Town. The hosts are tied on four points on the log with Mali and only need a draw against newcomers Nigeria, who are third on the log with three points, to move to the quarterfinals.

Keshi sides face a must-win situation at the Athlone Stadium to book their place in the next stage of the competition, the home lads will be playing against a mammoth crowd with great intimidation from the South African Fans. Should they defeat the host and advance to the next level, then big boss will remain the chosen one to all soccer Fans in Nigeria.
